"I do what floats my boat."

Carter Shultz and David von Mering, both from Massachusetts, are two roommates in college; they party together, live together, work together, and most importantly, make music together. Carter and David make up the duo, Fresh Aer Movement, or AER (pronounced air).

Labeling their music to one specific genre is difficult, but they have been influenced by acoustic-pop, rap, and reggae. Carter handles most of the verses and raps, while David plays the guitar, sings the choruses, and produces the tracks. The group has not reached a high level of fame, but several of their songs and videos (on YouTube and Soundcloud) have reached a few million views.  Aer just recently released a self-titled album.

What separates this band from others is their style of music. Specifically, no other group can recreate this clash of genres. They can touch listeners on a deep level, or create club bangers. Their songs are influenced by partying and recreational drug use, love, personal experiences, and just relaxed songs you can jam to on a car ride. Aer is honestly one of the only groups that can soothe the soul. Their music just puts you in a better mood, or a better place. Their songs are completely relatable, like “Ex”.  My personal favorites, at the time, are “Pretty Lady (Around Me),” “Like the Way,” and “Sincerely.” I get to see them in concert at the beach in October!

For this band in particular, no specific lyrics stand out to me; each song is good.  If this band sounds like something you could dig, check out their Soundcloud or YouTube. Just search Aer and be a part of the movement!
